Drug Trafficking: Woman Implants Cocaine In Her Breasts

MADRID (AFP) – Spanish police caught a woman smuggling more than a kilogram of cocaine hidden inside implants in her breasts, officials said Wednesday.

The Panamanian woman was caught at Barcelona airport after getting off a flight from Colombia, the national police said in a statement.

The woman “had two breast implants containing cocaine implanted in her. She had two open cuts under each of her breasts,” the police said, releasing a photograph of one of the loosely stitched wounds.
“She intended in that way to bring more than a kilogram of the drug into Spain,” the statement added.

Officials questioned the woman as part of standard checks carried out on passengers from Colombia — a major source of cocaine. When they searched her, they found bloody dressings on the wounds.
They took her to hospital where doctors removed the implants and tests showed that they contained 1.3 kilograms (three pounds) of cocaine, the police said.

She is super creative, I can give her that. People are willing to go to any length to get this money money money. Imagine sucking on the boobies lol..

NDLEA Nabs Man Who Concealed Cocaine In Pendants

Oluigboka Chukwuemeka Emmanuel thought he had cleverly concealed about 2.4 kilogrammes of cocaine in pendants and female belts. But his luck ran out when he was intercepted by Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement officials. “During search, powdery substances that tested positive for cocaine were found in his bag. It took several hours to extract the cocaine from the pendants because of the complex method of concealment,” said Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA Head of Public Affairs.

The agency’s airport commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, disclosed that the drug was factory packed inside assorted pendants. He described the mode of concealment as unusual. “This mode of concealment is strange and it is the first time of discovering drugs inside jewellery,” he said.

Umar explained that the drugs were industrially packed in ear rings, buttons, necklaces, bangles as well as in female belts.

“We had to forcefully open them to recover the drugs. The entire quantity of cocaine found in the jewellery products weighed 2.472kg. One arrest has been made in connection with the seizure,” Umar said. NDLEA said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, who had lived in Brazil for over five years, is believed to be working for a suspected Brazilian-based drug syndicate.

The suspect was quoted as saying, “I needed money for the burial anniversary of my late father. As the breadwinner, everybody is looking up to me for the sponsorship of the anniversary. I have lived in Brazil for over five years but I have no money to undertake this important family responsibility. My interest was the 2,000 euros they promised to pay me”.

Oluigboka is married and has a child. He hails from Imo State. The arrest took place last week.

Sniffer dogs of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have detected three consignments of heroin hidden inside various sizes of balls as well as woollen carpets. The estimated street value of the drug is N351m.

PUNCH gathered that the heroin, which was imported from Pakistan through the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Shed, Murtala Mohammed International Airport, had a total weight of 29.260kg. The rug consignment of 14kg came as cargo on KLM flight while the other two consignments of balls weighing 10.230kg and 5.030kg were imported on Saudi, Arabia Airline.

According to the Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, the importers of the goods abandoned. He said, “The drug was factory packed in the cartons containing the balls. The rug concealment was also factory packed because we had to tear and unfasten to recover the drugs. Four rugs were found to contain heroin. So far, no arrest has been made but the cases are under investigation.”

The spokesman of the anti-drug agency, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said the chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, has vowed to incapacitate drug trafficking syndicates in the country through counter measures.

“Every drug seizure is important to us because of the value of the drugs and the fact that every seizure made advances the anti-drug campaign. This seizure is important to the country because the damage the drug would have caused cannot be quantified.

“Drug trafficking cartels may be sophisticated in drug concealment, but the seizures are indicators of Nigeria’s counter efforts. We will not relent in protecting the country from the activities of drug traffickers,” Giade stressed.

The NDLEA boss added that the agency would continue to scuttle the plans of drug barons and stop them from using Nigeria in drug trafficking.

Drug Money: NDLEA Nabs Man Who Ingested 88 Wraps of Cocaine

 

 

Handel Omekanneji was recently arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for ingesting 88 wraps of cocaine.

The discovery was made by officials of the National Dug Law Enforcement Agency during the inward screening of passengers on an Iberia Airline flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The NDLEA Commander at the airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, confirmed the arrest. He said, “Omekanneji tested positive for drug ingestion during the inward screening of passengers. He excreted a total of 88 wraps of substance found to be cocaine, which weighed 1.550kg. The case is under investigation and he will soon be charged to court.”

Omekanneji told CRIME DIGEST that he travelled to Brazil in 1997 in search of job opportunities. He said, “When I got to Brazil in 1997, I could not get a job so I began selling clothes to survive. Although I was doing fine in business, the profit was insufficient because I am the bread winner of my family and extended family. I am not proud of what I have done but was pushed by my situation.”

The Chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, urged members of the public to partner with the agency in the campaign against drug trafficking and abuse. “We need team work to advance the fight against drug trafficking and abuse. Nigerians must consider the consequences of drug trafficking because it will ultimately lead to shame and regret,” Giade said.

Thaddeus Izunna, Computer Village Retailer Arrested With N27m Hard Drugs

Officers of Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have apprehended a 26-year old man in connection with 8.5kg of methamphetamine concealed inside metal pipes, the agency said on Tuesday.


The suspect, Afunaya Thaddeus Izunna, who is a retailer of phone accessories in Computer Village,  Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, was found at the weekend to be in possession of the drug during the screening of passengers on Ethiopian airline flight to New Delhi, India.

Speaking on the arrest, the NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, said the drug was discovered when anti-narcotic officilas insisted in searching the metal pipes inside Izunna’s luggage.
According to Umar, the drug with a total weight of 8.5kg is one of the highest seizures recently recorded at the airport.

He said: “This is one of the largest seizures recorded at the Lagos airport in recent time. It was a clever mode of concealment, but I am glad we were able to detect it and the suspect apprehended. The case is under investigation.”

On the development, NDLEA Chairman, Mr. Ahmadu Giade, said: “This is a spectacular seizure because the drug was carefully concealed in a way that makes detection difficult. The significance is that a warning signal has been sent to the enemy camp that one of their best tricks is not good enough. This has been my position and order to the officers that drugs should be intercepted regardless of the mode of concealment.”

The NDLEA boss however stressed that the suspect would soon be charged to court.

Narrating hir ordeals, the suspect, Mr. Izunna who hails from Anambra State noted that he was asked to deliver the drug to somebody in India for a fee.

According to the suspect who is married with 2 children, “I am a trader. I sell phone accessories at Ikeja to take care of my wife and two children. It was a friend that gave me the metal pipes that I should take them to India for a fee. I did not know when, how and where it was packed. I was only given the bag containing the pipes”

“Unfortunately, when I got to the airport during screening, NDLEA officers discovered the drug and I was arrested. This is my first time of smuggling drugs. I hope my wife will understand and forgive men” Afunaya pleaded.

Woman inserts 66 wraps of narcotics in private part

Law enforcement agents and travellers were last week astonished when 66 wraps of narcotics, which tested positive to methamphetamine, were discovered in the private part of Mande Bala, 48, at the screening section  of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on June 15, 2012.

The lady was promptly arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency shortly before she was due to board a Kenyan Airways flight to Nairobi.


The NDLEA Commander at the airport, Hamza Umar, confirmed the arrest. He said, “The quantity of drugs that Bala had inserted in her private part was so much that it affected her gait, drawing the attention of the NDLEA officials. No suspect has ever inserted such a large quantity of drugs in the country. Usually, cases of insertion are not more than 300g. The discovery was shocking.”

CRIME DIGEST gathered that in all, the 66 wraps of methamphetamine expelled from Bala’s private part weighed 1kg.

Bala, who claimed to be a widow and mother of three, told CRIME DIGEST that she was pushed to trafficking in drugs in order to raise school fees for her children. She said, “I am a widow; my husband died in 2007. I have got three children to take care of.  I need N45,000 to pay some fees for my child and I also had to take care of my rent because I have a quit notice to leave my house in July. I was actually supposed to swallow the drugs but I was too scared to do so.

“I then decided on my own to hide them instead in my private parts because I was scared I would die if I ingested the drugs. I have heard such things happen. Although it was difficult for me to walk, I had to do my best because there is no one else to take care of my children.”

In his reaction, the chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, described the incident as disturbing. “Apart from the quantity of drugs caught with her, her route is a new development in drug trafficking. Drug barons now adopt a relay approach to drug trafficking. They wanted to use her to take the drug to another African country before using an indigene of that country to take the drug to other continents, where the profit is higher. We are not oblivious of their moves and we are prepared to nip them in the bud,” he said.

According to the agency, no suspect has ever inserted such a large quantity of drugs in her private part since the establishment of the NDLEA in 1989. The suspect, who is a graduate of accounting from a South-West university, lives at Ijoko in Ogun State and is a native of Lagos Island in Lagos State. She will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.

Women In Drug Trafficking

NDLEA on Monday, arrested two women at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, for alleged drug trafficking.

One of the suspects, Faith Onuoha, a 24-year-old hair stylist, was allegedly caught with one kilogramme of methamphetamine hidden in her underwear.

The other, Bisola Animasaun, 25, a London-based fashion designer, was allegedly nabbed with 3 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in packs of chocolates.

It is amazing how women have joined this infamous profession. Oh well they say what a man can do a woman can do it better.
