Why does some marriage end up like this? relationship starts well then these sad things begins to happen..
A middle-aged man identified as Oladimeji Fowowe has been arrested by the police at Iju Police Station Red House, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, for allegedly setting his wife on fire, when he threw a burning stove and hot water on her.

The suspect, who trailed his wife to Ijoko in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria where she had gone to assist her husband’s younger brother’s wife who had just put to bed a set of twins, was alleged to have committed the crime when his wife returned to Iju area of Ishaga, Lagos State from Ijoko Speaking with P.M.NEWS on her hospital bed at Ogba, Lagos State, the victim, Mrs. Oluwakemi Fowowe, said she left her husband and father of her three children, when his trouble and that of his mother became unbearable for her.

“I was at the passage facing outside not knowing that my husband had sneaked through the back door and the next thing I heard was a loud noise as he threw both the burning stove and a pot of hot water on me. “My body caught fire and I ran outside, shouting for help before people assisted me in putting out the fire. I became unconscious before I was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors battled to revive me. I want all well-meaning Nigerians to come to my aid as I have no one to help me,’’she moaned in pains of the wounds and marriage.

Oladimeji was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police at Iju Police Station, where he was detained but he was later granted bail. His wife’s family said he should not be sent to jail because of the three children his wife had for him. But he was advised to take care of the victim.

However, the wife’s family decided to press charges against him when he failed to honour his side of the agreement, to take care of the victim. He allegedly abandoned her in the hospital.

Oladimeji, who had earlier told the police that his action was the handiwork of the devil, has gone underground to evade arrest. The victim is appealing to well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid as she requires about N400,000 for the treatment of the burns.

This Hausa man was caught trapping vultures in Onne, Portharcourt that he roasts as suya chicken and sells to unsuspecting customers.

His excuse is that he used to sell real chicken but  chicken got too expensive, so, he started trapping vultures and selling to his customers What if people stop buying dog food because its expensive and just feed this man to their dogs nko? Just the thought of vultures eating dead meat in refuse dumps and their very dirty looks make me want to puke.

UNBELIEVABLE!: Man Rapes 8 Children

The police in Ipaja-Ayobo area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria have arrested a man who allegedly defiled eight children. He is now being detained, awaiting arraignment in court. The suspect, Mr. Temitope Alo was arrested on Saturday at Koloba area of Ayobo after the children allegedly confessed that he had raped them. The eight victims, whose ages range from eight to 15 years were brought to the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA yesterday by the Vice Chairman, Ipaja-Ayobo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Alhaja Falilat Ajijola to enable the state government to take over the case.

The victim said he works for a newspaper company (name withheld) in Lagos and allegedly lured the children to his apartment where he defiled them and threatened to kill them if they reported the matter. Tests conducted on the eight children at the Ayobo-Ipaja Primary Health Centre, PHC, showed that the children had been defiled.

A top official of the WAPA Ministry told P.M.NEWS that the ministry had been handling rape cases but they had never recorded a case where a man serially raped eight children. The news of the rape caused a stir at the WAPA ministry as the staff rained curses on the alleged rapist.

According to the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA Vice Chairman, Ajijola, last week a case of rape was reported to the Neighbourhood Watch office at the council but when enquiries were made, the traditional ruler of Koloba was said to have denied that such a thing happened in his area. She said a few days later, the former council chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja, Bisi Yusuf reported that the incident actually happened and that further investigation traced the rape case to the culprit, who was promptly arrested.

Ajijola added that the traditional ruler, Chief Babayanju, later opened up and admitted that the story was true, while eight children came forward to report that they were allegedly raped by Alo.
The vice chairman said the children were taken to the PHC in the area where tests were conducted on them and it was confirmed that the children had been defiled. Two children of a community leader in the area were among the victims.

Chairman, Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Alhaji Shakiru Adisa Yusuf said he was shocked when he heard the story, adding that such a person is worse than an animal. “I was shocked because I am also a parent. Why must he go after innocent children? Such people should not live in this community,” he said, adding that the council would pursue the case to ensure that justice was done. “We will collect the tests conducted on the children and hand them over to the state government. We will pursue the case to a logical conclusion. This man has brought disgrace to this community,” he said.

Acting Director, Child Development, WAPA Ministry, Mrs Mosunmola Dada said the issue was disgusting, adding that such a man must be a paedophile and vowed that the government would ensure that he was prosecuted. “We have evidences against him. The Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA has a medical report on this case. We will monitor and follow up this case,” she said. The suspect, in his statement at the Ayobo Police Station, was said to have admitted that he raped some children, but that he only raped four and not eight.

One of the victims, an eight years old girl (name withheld) told reporters that the suspect told them to help him arrange newspapers in his apartment, adding that, “after that, he told us to go into the next room. “He asked us to remove our panties and I asked him what he wanted to do to us. He laid me on the bed and defiled me four times. He covered our mouths with white handkerchief and threatened to kill us if we report,” she said.

Another victim, a 12 years old girl (name withheld) alleged that the suspect “licked my private part. He called me and my friend in. He asked me to bring N100 fufu for him, which I brought. While I was waiting for the money with my friend, he asked my friend whether she could keep a secret.

“He asked me to pull off my panties but I did not answer and he forced me and licked my private part while he slept with my friend and defiled her too. He gave us N50. I told my friend that I will tell my mummy, but he threatened to kill us if we told anybody.”

Neither Nigeria Nor Cameroun Has Just Right To Bakassi – Soyinka

L-R: Femi Kuti, Wole Soyinka, Tunji Braithwaite and Joe Okei-Odumakin
By SaharaReporters, New York

Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has weighed in on Bakassi, the territory that has been a subject of dispute between Nigeria and Cameroun. Mr. Soyinka declared Bakassi a parcel of land that belongs to its inhabitants, arguing that it should not to be seen as a geographical space over which two countries should go to war to contend for ownership title. He stressed that the overt
dispute had to do with the disputed area’s oil reserves.

Mr. Soyinka’s comments on the disputed land came in a lecture delivered yesterday in Lagos to celebrate the 79th birthday of lawyer and political activist, Tunji Braithwaite.

The event was sponsored by a group called Women Arise Initiative

Speaking on “Corporate Gains and Human Deficit,” Mr. Soyinka outlined two types of wealth which he defined as inert and dynamic. He then lampooned a third type that has emerged in the context of religious overzealousness. Said the globally celebrated playwright, “Let us make a note however of a dubious third, which is virtual – and I do not mean virtual in terms of paper currency or stocks and shares. I am speaking of ‘virtual’ as in non-palpable, vaporous, fantasized
realms – such as heaven or its equivalents in all religions.

You know the religious admonitions – lay not your treasures down upon earth', ‘your reward is in heaven’, plus a hundred other varieties – you’ll encounter them in virtually all religious constitutions, known as the scriptures.”

The writer bemoaned the collapse of the cotton industry in the northern part of Nigeria. He blamed the collapse and the massive layoffs of workers on “smuggling corporations” supported by the state to the detriment of citizens. Mr. Soyinka recalled “being presented with a bolt or two of fabric from its looms; at that time, the industry was already gasping for breath.” He described the eventual death of the industry as only a matter of time, emphasizing that the industry “did not commit suicide” but “was killed…by highly placed smuggling corporations that were allowed to operate freely through our obliging borders.”

The laureate noted that corporations “are not limited to licensed businesses which
incinerate a hundred or two workers in one fell swoop.”

He argued that corporations “include
other forms of enterprise which slowly starve hundreds of thousands to death and create hordes of unemployed who are then snatched up by spiritual corporations for the destabilization of an entire nation – in the process of which, let us take note, hundreds of innocents in this nation are also incinerated, gunned down, and/or blown to pieces.”

Mr. Soyinka warned about the consequences of laying off workers, noting that such workers are often enticed by recruitment into vicious circles. According to him, to leave the unemployed roaming all over Nigeria in various degrees of starvation helps their recruitment into syndicates of armed robbers and kidnappers.

He also added: “Vulnerable, impressionable, [the unemployed] also become willing recruits to
extreme religious indoctrination and are focused solely on the hereafter, having been expelled by neglect from the garden of the here and now – albeit a garden overrun by the brambles of inequity.”

Steering his discourse to Bakassi, the laureate described the contested land as a testing ground for corporate integrity. “The Bakassi islands were not uninhabited spaces,” he said. “The Bakassi islands were human settlements. They existed not as wasteland but as homeland. And then, they were traded off – a quite pertinent expression – traded off between the leadership of Nigeria and the Cameroon corporations during the civil war.”

Mr. Soyinka wondered, “Were the wishes of the people who actually inhabit that space taken into consideration when that head of state appended his signature thereon? Were representatives of the indigenes invited to The Hague to testify? The answer was No, thus vitiating whatever
judgment that learned body chose to pass.”

He continued: “The world no longer lives in a feudal fiefdom. The rights of minorities and indigenous peoples are encoded in the statutes of the
United Nations. The human deficit inserted into the Bakassi decision is now plagued with unpredictable scenarios.”

Even so, Mr. Soyinka warned Nigerians to be wary of people calling for the nation to go to war over Bakassi land. He described trumpeting war as unpatriotic, contending that they were often out to pursue their own monetary interests.

“Do not take my word for it,” he declared, “the then Head of Nigeria’s version of the KGB cum MI5 etc etc, M.D. Yusuf, has placed it on public record that, among those who urged the nation so stridently to defy the judgment of the international court were indeed those who enjoyed lucrative retainerships from the state. Were they ever interested in the people? Did they care for the humanity of Bakassi? Of course not.”

The dramatist then restated his view that “neither Nigeria nor the Cameroon had a modicum of just rights over the slab of real estate known as Bakassi. The crucial question that the International Court does not appear to have considered remains this: what do the people of Bakassi want for themselves? To become Cameroonians? To become Nigerians? Or simply to remain Bakassians? Bakassi became a focus of interest and desire only because
of her oil reserves and the greed of state corporations – presented as national interest.”

Mr. Soyinka asserted that “the suppressed voice of Bakassi’s humanity [should] be heard,” calling for a plebiscite in the disputed territory to determine how the residents feel.

Responding to toasts by various guests, Mr. Braithwaite stated that people must continue to fight in order to realize their dreams.

Among the guests were Joe Okei Odumakin, the President of the Women Arise initiative, Akin
Oyebode, a professor of International Law and Jurisprudence at the University of Lagos, Balarabe Musa, a former governor of Kaduna State, Yinusa Tanko, the national chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Femi Kuti, an Afro-beat musician, and Debo Adediran, a leader of Citizens against Corruption.

A Group of Muslim Youths In Northern Nigeria Crucify A Cat On A Cross to typify Jesus Christ.
This regrettable development may be unconnected or their own version of retaliating the Controversial Egyptian-American film ''INNOCENCE OF MUSLIMS'' that disrespected Prophet Mohammed.
Whatever, the timing of this sad scene and picture is wrong and condemnable.
It is a Shame!

French Court Has Blocked Further Publication of Naked Queen Kate's Photos

Having a ball: After her giggling fit yesterday, the Duke and Duchess were again in good spirits after arriving in Tuvalu

Kate and William have won a landmark legal case to block further publication of ‘highly intimate’ topless photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge.
The Royal couple's lawyers have successfully secured an injunction from a French court preventing the images being spread across the globe by the owners of Closer - the first to publish the naked pictures.
The ruling in Paris this morning means:
  • Closer France must not print any more copies of its controversial issue and take the topless pictures off its website
  • The photos cannot be published in any other magazines or papers in France
  • The photographs cannot be sold by them to anyone else in the world
  • Closer would get a 10,000 euro daily fine each time they sell them on or publish them
  • Within 24 hours the offending pictures must be handed over to the Palace
  • Legal fees of 2,000 euros handed to the Duke and Duchess
At the start of the unprecedented court case in Paris, barrister Aurelien Hammelle evoked memories of Princess Diana’s ordeal at the hands of paparazzi as he said a photographer had violated Kate’s privacy, adding she is a ‘young woman, not an object’.

Judges today agreed the magazine must 'give back' the equipment on which the digital photos were stored and banned the images from sale in France or abroad within 24 hours. Legal fees of 2000 euros were also awarded to the Royal couple.
Closer magazine will now have to pay a 10,000 euros daily fine if photos of the Duchess of Cambridge are re-published.
The Duke and Duchess have also filed a criminal complaint under France’s privacy laws which could see Closer fined up 36,000 pounds and its editor serve up to a year in prison. And they have filed against ‘persons unknown’, referring to the photographer, who has not yet been identified.

Triggering the storm: French magazine Closer was the first to publish the naked pictures of the duchess
Aurelien Hammelle, the French lawyer instructed by Royals William and Kate to fight against further publication of her topless photos

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are suing the French Closer magazine for printing semi-naked pictures of Kate last week.
It is the first time that a member of the Royal Family has sued a publication through the courts in France.
Yesterday their lawyer Mr Hammelle accused the magazine of intruding on a ‘highly intimate moment’ by taking the topless pictures of Kate while she was on a private holiday at a chateau in Provence.
The lawyer compared the ‘grotesque invasion’ to the relentless pursuit of Princess Diana by photographers.
The photographer responsible should be prosecuted, the Royals say.
Mr Hammelle said the pictures of the Duchess were taken ‘just six days after the 15th anniversary of the useless, cynical and morbid hunt which led to the death of William’s mother’.

King and Queen for the day: William and Kate are carried on thrones after their arrival at Funafuti in Tuvalu today
William and Kate are carried on thrones after their arrival at Funafuti in Tuvalu today as they await the judgment in Paris

Battle: Tacky Italian magazine Chi was the latest to publish the topless pictures of Kate - owned by the same company as French Closer

The Royal couple is seeking 5,000 euro (£4,034) in damages and a ban on the French magazine - which is run by a different company from the British version - re-publishing the images.
Mr Hamelle has also asked the court to fine Closer 10,000 euro (£8,070) a day for each day the injunction is not respected, and 100,000 (£80,720) if the photos are sold.
But lawyers representing Italian publishing group Mondadori, which owns France's Closer and is controlled by former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, told the court that the photos are not theirs to sell.

Privacy row: The Tribunal de Grande Instance (above) in Nanterre, on the outskirts of Paris, has heard representations from the royals as they begin legal action against the publishers of French Closer magazine

He said the Royal couple wanted all editions of the magazine removed from the shops, and to ban further distribution of the photos.
The pictures were taken ‘in a highly intimate moment during a scene of married life and have no place on the cover of a magazine’, he said.
William and Kate have indicated that they are prepared to present evidence themselves, once they return from their royal tour in the Far East.

How it was done: The photographer who took the controversial pictures most likely took them from this spot on a Provence road overlooking the chateau

Crime: Female Banker Sends Robbers After Customer, After He Withdrew N5Million

A female cashier working in a new generation bank along New Market Road, Onitsha, Anambra State has landed in trouble for sending robbers after a customer just after he withdrew N5 million from the bank. It was gathered that the customer was attacked by the armed bandits who operated on two motorcycles while waiting to board a vehicle to his destination.
After being dispossessed of the money, Daily Sun gathered that the victim became suspicious of the role played by the female cashier as no other person knew about the withdrawal and he hurried back to the bank in anger and threatened to expose the cashier if the stolen money was not returned immediately to him.
According to a reliable source, the bank manager, whose office was situated close to the banking hall, overheard their argument and invited them into his office. While interviewing both parties, the female cashier consistently denied involvement in the crime and vowed to deal with the victim if his allegation was eventually proved to be false. However, the cat was let out of the bag during hot exchange of words when the mobile phone of the cashier rang persistently and she refused to answer the call.
While she was fidgeting, the bank manager suspected foul play and ordered the cashier to answer her call, using the amplified speaker. When she finally picked the call after much reluctance, it was the voice of the excited robber from the other end telling the cashier that the operation was successful. He told the cashier to meet him at the designated location to collect her share after the close of work. The cashier became speechless after the call as tears of shame and guilt streamed down her face.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mr. Ralph Uzoigwe, said he had not received any complaint from the bank and promised to reach the reporter as soon as information got to him. It was learnt that the bank was handling the incident internally to avoid a dent to its image.

Boko Haram's Spokesman Abu Qaqa Killed, What Next?

Boko Haram's spokes man Abu Qaqa has been killed, he was killed some minutes ago, and some top boko haram leaders were also arrested. Heard they stormed their hideout about an hour ago.

UPDATE: Men of the Joint Task Force in Kano confirmed the arrest of top members of the Islamic sect but have been reluctant to give the identities of those arrested. Reports say the apparent reluctance stems from the embarrassment caused the government in previous arrests when the government failed to properly identify suspects before making the arrests public. There are however unconfirmed reports coming from the foreign media indicating that the Boko Haram spokesman might have been killed in the said raid.

According to the report, a top officer of the JTF spoke to the press saying that two militant suspects were arrested, one of whom later died but his identity remains unknown. A source privy to the incident said a car which conveyed the militant leaders was stopped and one of them tried to escape and was shot. He later died in the hospital. The source said some of the people in the car have informed the military that the person shot was Abu Qaqa, the man who signs emails sent to the media on behalf of the group. The sect is yet to confirm or refute these claims.

Photo: Foul Play Suspected in Workers Death at Chinese Factory in Ikeja

Someone sent a mail to Blogger, Ladun Liadi telling her about how some Nigerians were killed and drowned in the pool in a Chinese factory in Ikeja Lagos. The family are suspecting a foul player. Read the senders mail below.
''This is to notify you on this story that just got to me from my tribes man, whose brother is one of the dead boys. According to him, his brother worked with a Chinese company in Ikeja (name removed), and he worked at the factory sometime last week, and slept over. His where about could not be determined till the following evening, where his body and that of his friend were found inside the company's swimming pool with blood coming out of their ears, nostrils, and mouth.
***VIEWERS DISCRETION ADVISED***
To my best of knowledge (i lost a brother to the pool, i.e got drowned). When a human drowns blood does not come out from those places, what we suspect is foul play, perhaps they must have seen or heard something they were not supposed to see or hear, or perhaps the company is into shady deals.
Please I would like to let the country know about the ills of most of these companies, we know they have strong backups, more so this is just one case we know, the next may be someone close to you.
Thank you for the job you guys have been doing for the country.''

A Media Worker In Abuja Ran Over By Oil Minister Diezani Allison Madueke's Convoy Killing Him

James Momoh, an Abuja-based media worker, died a gruesome death after he was run over by a convoy belonging to the Oil Resources minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke. Momoh was reportedly on his way back from work at Nicon Junction, Maitama area of Abuja late Wednesday, when the tragedy occurred.

Momoh’s death was hushed up from the media because Diezani was protecting her image until the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT council learned of the incident and issued a statement today expressing their condolences to his survivors.
A PM News report indicated that Momoh was taken to the NNPC hospital where he later died after the incident. A statement by the Chairman of Council, Comrade Chuks Ehirim, described the death of Momoh, a production staffer with the newspaper, as avoidable and unfortunate.

According to Ehirim, the death of Momoh brings to fore the recklessness of government convoys and their absolute disregard for traffic rules and other road users. The NUJ FCT chairman accused the oil minister, who just returned to the country after an extended trip abroad, of failing to show any concern or human feeling for the dead man by reaching out to his relatives. He said she was rather more bothered about protecting her image.

Ehirim warned that the union will not fold its arms and watch government officials treat human lives with levity and called for proper investigation into the matter as well as proper compensation for the bereaved family. Mrs. Allison Madueke arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday morning on a British Airways flight after Saharareporters revealed that she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness. She denied the report on her Facebook page, cut short her trip by one week and quietly returned to Nigeria on Tuesday only for her convoy to kill the newspaper man on Wednesday night.

It was not known at press time whether Mr. Momoh had a family or what memorial services are planned.

Nature: Lokoja Residents Flee as River Niger Overflows Bank

Some houses along the bank of River Niger in Lokoja, Kogi State, have been flooded following excess discharge of water from the river between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria who, on Thursday, visited some of the affected houses at Kpata, Adankolo and Gadumo areas of Lokoja, reports that no life was lost to the flooding.
NAN, however, learnt that property worth several millions of Naira were submerged by the flood.
Some affected residents said they woke up to discover that their houses had been flooded, a development which they attributed to excess discharge of water from the River Niger.
They said the water level increased tremendously, fearing that the river might eventually overrun the entire houses on its bank in due course.

A landlord in one of the affected houses in Adankolo area, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim, told NAN that he moved into his eight-room building in 2011.
He said he was living peacefully with his three wives and 11 children until the recent flooding.
Ibrahim, who was moving out his family and property out of the house when NAN visited, said the eight rooms were flooded.

He said he would not take the risk of sleeping in the house on Thursday night.
Mr. Musa Hayatu, who was a tenant in the area, said he had relocated his wife and child to another house in the town as a result of the flood.
Hayatu, who NAN correspondent met moving out his personal belongings from the house, said he had no intention of returning to the house.

Another landlord, Mr Hussein Bawa, who owns a two-bedroom apartment located on Hausa Street, Adankolo, said a relation had offered him a room as a temporary abode.
He said he would consider returning to the house when the water level dropped.
Sule Alli, who claimed to have been living in his house located on the river bank since 1996, said the last time the area experienced flooding was in 2008.

Alli, who stated that he was born and bred in the area, however, said the high water level was not enough to send him packing out of his house, saying that he had no where to run to.
Some tenants, who also spoke to NAN, said they had started moving out of the houses as they feared that the flooding might further spread inward.
The residents, who claimed to have heard the warnings from radio and television programmes, claimed that no official from the State Emergency Management Agency or the Lokoja Local Government had visited them to give them any information.

Attempts to speak with the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Mrs Alice Ogedengbe, did not succeed as she was said to be busy. NAN reports that those who spoke to NAN confirmed that they were aware of the several warnings from a Federal Government agency, NIMET, urging some states to prepare for flooding in their areas of authority.

20 Year Old Female Narrates Her Story After Escaping From Ritualists

A first year student of Health Technology at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Miss Grace Ayetan (20), at the weekend narrated her ordeal with ritualists to The Nation in Benin, the Edo State capital.

Grace, who was accompanied by her father, Mr. James Ayetan said: “I boarded a bus from Ring-Road to school and there were other passengers in the vehicle. At Five Junction, the bus stopped and the conductor went down to pour water into the radiator. That is the last thing I remembered. We all fell asleep. “When another passenger, a woman, woke us up later, the bus was in the bush.
“We started shouting, but the driver and the conductor brought out a gun and told us to be quiet.
“They took us to an underground house in the forest and put us into different rooms. They chained us and hung our bags around our necks. We went without food and water for days. “After beheading a woman and her baby, a fight ensued between the ritualists over what to do with the rest of us. In the process, a bunch of keys fell from one of them.

“The fight drew the attention of the guards at the main entrance who took the parties into a room to settle the dispute. “That gave one of us the opportunity to pick the keys and unlock the chains. That was how we escaped.”
Grace said a good Samaritan took them out of the forest and brought them to Benin.
She advised the public to be careful when boarding commercial vehicles. Mr. Ayetan urged security agents to curb the activities of ritualists.

This could be an eye opener to whom it may concern, please learn to be more careful...Board commercial buses only at designated parks! At least that helps a bit.
