Meet Ronald Page who Bank of America unintentionally changed his account status, allowing the 55-year-old man to make unlimited ATM cash overdraft withdrawals.
In reality, he had only $300 in his checking account but used the withdrawal error to withdraw more than $1.5 million and lost it all in gambling at the Greektown Casino in Detroit and MGM Grand Casino.
He was charged and he pleaded guilty to theft of bank funds. He is now facing 15 months in prison, told to pay back the money and forbidden from ever gambling.
