Whew! That's a big one oh. You know those times when you miss your way because the signs are badly placed? Those ones are like traps. There's this one just before Unilag, that sign is so unclear and the police are always there waiting to arrest you! I've fallen victim of that one once oh.

I hope with this new bill, Lagos state government will spend sometime making signs more noticeable and understandable.
Motorists that drive on one-way traffic in Lagos will now pay a fine of N50, 000 or serve a three year jail term, following the passing of the new bill the Lagos State House of Assembly on Sunday.
The bill which comprises new amended traffic law, is now before the governor Babatunde Fashola for his assent. The bill stipulates that driving in a direction prohibited by the road traffic law will attract a fine of N50, 000 or three year jail term or both, while a first offender gets one year term.
The bill also stipulates that bullion vans that drive driving in a direction prohibited by the road traffic law will be forfeited to the state government while vehicles abandoned on highway will be fined N50, 000.
According to schedule (1) section (2) of traffic offences and penalties as stated in the bill, riding a motor-cycle popularly referred to as Okada by Lagosians against traffic, riding on the kerb, median or road setbacks, first time offender will paid N20,000 fine while subsequent offender will pay a fine of N30,000 or the riders motorcycle be impounded.
Operating a motor-cycle in a restricted area on or prohibited route attracts N20, 000 fine or the motor-cycle impounded.
Schedule II, section (4) of the bill listed prohibited route for motorcycle and tricycle on major highway in Lagos. The highways are Lagos- Ibadan expressway, Apapa- Oshodi- Oworonshoki, Lagos- Ikorodu Road, Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway, Eti-Osa- Lekki- Epe expressway, Funsho Williams Avenue, Agege Motor Road

The above poster has been placed on 3rd mainland bridge to notify motorists of planned repairs on the 3rd mainland bridge which is slated to begin on the 1st of July and end in November 2012.
I remember the last time this happened, traffic was so heavy on Ikorodu road that people had to leave the mainland and early as 4am if they intend to get to the Island before 10am everyday.
I hope doesn't get that bad this time around. Welcome to the torture of that mad traffic (sing it like guaranty trust bank jingle lol)
