We
all have different sleeping pattern as well as sleeping position, at times you
will wake up the next day feeling some form of pain in your back, pain in your
neck and wrinkle all over your face making you look as if you’re aging. Sleeping
position determines how all these effect take place in your body and they can
be avoided provided you adopt a healthy sleeping position that will make you
enjoy your body. So, stop bad sleeping pattern
Below
are all the sleeping position and conditions that are attached to them.
The Best Is The Back
Position: Sleeping on your back makes it easy for
your head, neck, and spine to maintain a neutral position; this is because you're
not forcing any extra curves into your back. Back sleeping position is also ideal
for fighting acid reflux. Back-sleeping also helps prevent wrinkles, because
nothing is pushing against your face and more importantly the weight of your
breasts is fully supported, this help reducing sagginess. The negative side of back sleeping position is just that it
encourages snoring.
Second Best Is The Side
Position. Side sleeping position is great for
overall health, it discourages snoring and keeps your spine elongated and if
you’re pregnant, side sleeping positions is just the best for you, make sure
you sleep on the left as this help the blood to flow properly. The negative side of side sleeping position;
Sleeping on your side can cause you to get wrinkles as a result of the smushing
of one side of your face into the pillow. Side sleeping postion also
contributes to breast sag, since your breast are dangling downward, stretching
the ligaments.
Not Encouraging
Position is The Fetal Sleeping Position:
it is good during pregnancy and snoring is reduced. When sleeping in a tight
fetal pose and make a curve, this curved position restricts diaphragmatic
breathing. When you snooze with your knees pulled up high and chin tucked into
your chest, you may feel it in the morning back and joint pain, especially if
you have an arthritic. And if you make this your nightly pose, you may bring on
premature facial wrinkles as well as breast sag.
Worst Sleeping Position
is The Stomach Sleeping Pattern: if you snore,
stomach sleeping position is ideal for you and that is the only good thing
about this position, every other thing are bad. Facedown keeps your upper
airways more open. So if you snore and aren't suffering from neck or back pain,
it's fine to try sleeping on your belly. Stomach sleeping makes it difficult to
maintain a neutral position with your spine, the pose puts pressure on joints
and muscles, which can irritate nerves and lead to pain, numbness, and
tingling.
According
to Dr Mercola of www.mercola.com, he said “Getting a sound night’s sleep is an
incredibly important part of optimizing your health and well-being, and one
facet of restful sleep is the position in which you sleep. Most people
naturally favour one sleep position over another, and it’s perfectly natural to
listen to your body in this respect.
Whether you prefer
sleeping on your back, side, stomach or somewhere in between, as long as that
position equates to a good night’s sleep for you and allows you to wake up feeling
refreshed and pain-free, go ahead with it. If, on the other hand, you’re waking
up with back and neck pain, or struggling with snoring or acid reflux,
adjusting your sleep position may help”.
