Teenager Hanged Self After Listening To Death Metal Music With Dark Lyrics

Teenager Hanged Self After Listening To Death Metal Music With Dark Lyrics
The power of the music you listen to over one's action cant be overemphasized. Still the naivety of some people marvels me. Musicians should be mindful of what they sing or their lyrics because there some people gullible enough to practice it.

Truman Edley, who was just 15 at the time of his death, hanged himself in the hallway of the family home in Rotherham after he had been listening to the violent music.

A coroner refused to name the band he was listening to or publish the extreme lyrics which formed part of the evidence at the inquest in Rotherham.

The official also noted that Truman had been suffering from a number of problems, and his mother said that he had 'self-esteem' issues. The teenager, who was named after American indie band Trumans Waters, frequently listened to death metal through headphones.

She discovered his body at their home in November 2011, two months after she had found him sobbing in his bedroom wardrobe. On another occasion, she found scratches on his arm - he said that he had done it while messing around in the woods, but two friends asked him to visit a youth support service, fearing he had been self-harming.

Mrs Edley described her son as 'loving' and said he was fiercely protective of his loved ones.

'He was one of the most kind, loving and caring people,' she said. 'We told each other that we loved each other every day.

'He became a stereotypical teenager, like the Harry Enfield character Kevin. He was more interested in spending time with friends and took increasing pride in his appearance.'

New Year Tragedy: 60 Dead, Many Others Injured During New Year Celebration

Not less than 60 people died and at least dozens were injured in Abidjan as crowds stampeded overnight during celebratory New Year’s fireworks, Ivory Coast rescue workers said Tuesday.

The head of military rescue workers, Lieutenant Colonel Issa Sako, told public television that “60 people” died and 200 were injured based on a preliminary toll. Another rescue official said told AFP the toll is “61 dead and 48 injured.”

The flow of people coming to the entrance of the city’s main stadium to watch the fireworks caused a “very large crush”, Sako said. “In the crush, people were walked over and suffocated by the crowd.”
Images broadcast by RTI television showed bodies stretched lifeless on the ground. Piles of abandoned shoes and clothing could also be seen at the stadium, where soldiers and police were deployed.

What a tragic way to start a new year.

27 People Killed As Trailer Plunged Into River
No fewer than 27 people perished, while 18 others sustained various degrees of injuries following an accident involving an articulated vehicle along Ruwa Wuri-Tangaza road on Monday, which also claimed the lives of a number of cows and sheep.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the trailer with plate number Sokoto XA 443 SAA, which was heading to Warri, Delta State from Mano village, allegedly lost control and plunged into a river close to Masallaci village in Tangaza Local Government.

The victims, who had been buried in Bagida village, reports say were from Bagida, Sabiyo, Tinnigere, Ruwa Wuri and Tsoni villages, all in the local government.

Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Sokoto, Dr. Umaru Aliyu, while confirming the incident said: “Our findings revealed that the accident occurred due to over-loading and over-speeding,” adding that the trailer was conveying both cows and humans.

“27 people died, while 15 were injured. Those injured are receiving treatment at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, UDUTH, Sokoto, while the driver of the trailer and his motor boy fled,” Aliyu said.

May the souls of the dearly departed rest in peace

Parents Demand N2 Billion from Bishop David Oyedepo over Child’s Death in School

Parents Demand N2 Billion from Bishop David Oyedepo over Child’s Death in School
The parents of late Miss Imienfan Omokaro, a four year-old who recently drowned at the Kingdom Heritage Model School, an arm of Winners Chapel in Benin, Edo State are demanding N2 billion as general damages from General Overseer of the church, David Oyedepo, within 14 days.

In a letter by the father, the amount demanded is “for the callous and senseless killing of our client’s daughter, Miss Imienfan Omokaro.”

According to Daily Independent, Imienfan, a Kindergarten pupil of the school was reported drowned in a drum of water in a toilet in the school on November 1, 2012. Her parents were not informed of the incident until late in the day when her mother wanted to pick her from school. The school authority and Winners Chapel had reportedly prayed for the little girl before taking her to Irowa Hospital in Benin, where medical personnel confirmed she was dead before she was brought in. According to a source who pleaded anonymity, the school authorities had kept the girl for over an hour praying for her, before finally taking her to the hospital.

Mr. Omokaro’s lawyers want Kingdom Heritage Model School to tender unreserved apology in three national newspapers, warning that if the demands were not met within 14 days, “we have the irrevocable instructions of our client to commence legal action against the school (Kingdom Heritage Model School) and Church (Winners Chapel) without any further correspondence from this Chambers.”

The events surrounding her death raises many questions which makes the anger of her parents easily understood. How did the little girl get into a drum of water and drown in it? Why should a four-year be allowed to go to the toilet unsupervised without an adult around? Why wasn’t she taken to the hospital immediately? Why were her parents not informed immediately of what had happened to their child?

School administrators should be extra vigilant with the young children put in their care. May her soul rest in peace...amen!

Tragedy: Wedding Turns To Mourning As A Car Accident Kills Bride On Her Way To The Church

On a day that was supposed to be perhaps her best day on Earth, reverse was the case for Miss Bisioye Adegbite, whose gentle soul was snatched away by the cold hands of death on her wedding day.According to reports, efforts of the supposed bride were ended in a ghastly motor accident shortly after she left home in a convoy of exotic cars for her church wedding somewhere in Ikeja, Lagos.

She was the only occupant of the car who died in the accident. According to the source, it was like a dream to the groom who was waiting anxiously for her arrival in order for them to begin the solemnization of their marriage in the church under the watchful eyes of their family members, friends and well wishers only to be told that the love of his life had been hijacked by the icy hands of death.

The man thought he was dreaming until he rushed to the hospital where he was shown the battered corpse of his darling bride by the doctor and broke down in tears uncontrollably.

The late Adegbite, 25, until her death was a final year student of Industrial Relation at the University of Cotonou, Benin Republic, she had since being interred.

Student Pours Chemical on Friend On Her Birthday

The birthday celebration of a 17-year-old female student of Yaba College of Technology, Omodesola Olusoji, turned sour last Wednesday as an unidentified school friend of hers poured a substance suspected to be a corrosive chemical on her.

PUNCH Metro learnt that it is a tradition in the 65-year-old institution for students to pour water on their friends on their birthdays as part of the celebration.
It was learnt that friends of Omodesola, a first year National Diploma student of Business Administration continued in the tradition and poured water on her while she was coming down the stairs at the PGD hostel.

However, one of them got hold of a keg of corrosive chemical kept in her hostel room, which she mistook for water, and poured it on Omodesola. A student of the institution who preferred anonymity said Omodesola sustained burns on her face and her chest. He said, “We actually learnt that her mother who is a senior lecturer in the school asked her not to come to school that day. But she lied to her that she had a test.

“I don’t think that malice was intended. The chemical the girl mistook for water was the one being used for the entrepreneurial development project.” He added that Omodesola was initially taken to the school health centre, but was rejected because of the extent of her injuries. Confirming the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said Omodesola was currently receiving medical treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
She said all efforts to get the school authorities to hand over the accused to the police had proved abortive.

She said, “On Thursday evening Omodesola’s father, Kayode, made a verbal report of the incident at the Sabo Police Division.
“The DPO has reached out to the school’s Chief Security Officer and the Students Affairs Unit to get the accused interrogated by the police for proper investigation of the matter but they have yet to do that.

“There is no official communication from the school authority to give us the reason behind that. The last time the DPO spoke with the CSO, he said the Rector wanted to deal with the matter internally.” When our correspondent contacted the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Adekunle Adams, on the telephone, he said the college was working in collaboration with the parents of the victim to bring her back to normal.

He said, “Bathing people with water on their birthdays on the school campus, had been a norm amongst the students and they do this out of sheer youthful exuberance. “In all fairness, the incident was purely accidental. The suspect in the case had been reporting at the unit investigating the matter and she had been remorseful. She was even part of those who rushed her to the health centre.

“The college is waiting for the medical report to know what our level of commitment will be in helping her recover fully.” When asked if the college was preventing the police from doing their job, Adams said, “I’m not in the know of that. Our correspondent, however, learnt that the Omodesola’s parents are considering flying her abroad for proper medical attention.
