Teenager Hanged Self After Listening To Death Metal Music With Dark Lyrics

The power of the music you listen to over one's action cant be overemphasized. Still the naivety of some people marvels me. Musicians should be mindful of what they sing or their lyrics because there some people gullible enough to practice it.

Truman Edley, who was just 15 at the time of his death, hanged himself in the hallway of the family home in Rotherham after he had been listening to the violent music.

A coroner refused to name the band he was listening to or publish the extreme lyrics which formed part of the evidence at the inquest in Rotherham.

The official also noted that Truman had been suffering from a number of problems, and his mother said that he had 'self-esteem' issues. The teenager, who was named after American indie band Trumans Waters, frequently listened to death metal through headphones.

She discovered his body at their home in November 2011, two months after she had found him sobbing in his bedroom wardrobe. On another occasion, she found scratches on his arm - he said that he had done it while messing around in the woods, but two friends asked him to visit a youth support service, fearing he had been self-harming.

Mrs Edley described her son as 'loving' and said he was fiercely protective of his loved ones.

'He was one of the most kind, loving and caring people,' she said. 'We told each other that we loved each other every day.

'He became a stereotypical teenager, like the Harry Enfield character Kevin. He was more interested in spending time with friends and took increasing pride in his appearance.'

40 Yr Old Man Attempts Suicide Twice Because Of His Eye Problem

He really needs help with the eye problem. But taking his life is worst kinda help you need Taofeek.

Taofeek Muraina never had it good as a child. His adulthood is not even better. This, perhaps, explains why the 40-year-old bricklayer thought it wise to die rather than being put to shame by friends and neighbours.

Twice this year, he has attempted suicide. The first time, Punch Metro learnt, was about five months ago, while the second one was on December 5.

On December 5, he had wanted to poison himself when a neighbour arrived on time and raised the alarm.

Muraina has been battling with an acute eye condition since when he was a child. As he grows, his condition worsens, making life unbearable for him.

Explaining reasons for attempting suicide, he said, “Life is unbearable for me. I was born with an eye problem. My wife, Tawa, left me and dumped our 10-year-old son with me. I learnt that she has got married to another man.

“I attempted to commit suicide by poisoning myself while my son and neighbours were not at home but my landlady got home while I was preparing the mixture.

His landlady, Mrs. Aminat Oseni, who said that Muraina had been her tenant for five years, explained that it was the second time that he attempted taking his own life.

Oseni said, “He (Muraina) is a friend to my son, Fatai, who is a welder. My son appealed to me that we should accommodate him when he came begging for accommodation.

“According to him, he was sent packing by his former landlord on the ground that the landlord’s family wanted to make use of the apartment. But he said the landlord only ejected him because of his eye problem.”

Muraina, whose left eyeball gorge from the socket, said, “This is causing acute pain for me. I have been living in pain since I was born. It became worse during the crisis within the National Union of Road Transport Workers three years ago at Moniya. I was hit in my eyes by an object and since then it had been worse.”

His relatives, according to him, came with a promise that they would help him but they never showed up again.

Muraina’s landlady said, “When they saw him they burst out crying. They said that they would take him to the hospital but they could not do so for lack of funds.”

A Mass Communication Student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Yusuf Oseni, said Muraina had not been having any medical attention as a result of poverty, adding, “That is why five months ago he attempted to commit suicide by hanging.

“Having tried all available means to help himself, he decided to take his own life. He has no money to treat himself in the hospital. He is alone with his problem. When he went to the University College Hospital, he was asked to pay N10m. 

Muraina, a resident of Gunwin Akingbile, Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State, said the excruciating pains he experienced on a daily basis had made life difficult for him.

He said, “I am a bricklayer and I mould blocks. People in the neighbourhood always make jest of me. I take native treatment because I cannot afford the cost of surgery.

“I decided to end it all because I could not afford the cost of surgery and no one wishes to help me. With my condition, I still manage to work to feed myself and my son but people hate me.”

US Secret Service Agent Commits Suicide Amid Inquiry

A US Secret Service agent assigned to President Barack Obama's security detail has died in an apparent suicide, law enforcement sources have said. Special agent Rafael Prieto was being investigated for failing to report a romantic relationship with a foreign national, they told US media. The agency said it was "mourning the loss of a valued colleague".

The behaviour of its agents have been under scrutiny since a prostitution scandal in Colombia earlier this year. A number were dismissed after allegations that Secret Service agents hired prostitutes while they were in Cartagena last April to prepare the way for President Obama's visit to attend the Summit of Americas.

Agents are required to inform the Secret Service of any relationship with a foreign citizen to ensure there is no risk to national security.

'Distinguished career'

Rafael Prieto, a married father, admitted to investigators that he had been having a long-term affair with a woman from Mexico, sources told the Associated Press (AP).

His relationship was revealed by an agent involved in the Cartagena scandal who was concerned that the Secret Service was not enforcing its rules consistently, the AP reported. It is not thought that he had compromised national security with his relationship, but rather violated the agency's own administrative rules by failing to disclose it.

Mr Prieto is said to have been found on Saturday, in his car with the engine running. His death, believed to have been caused by carbon monoxide poisoning, is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police in Washington.

"Rafael Prieto had a distinguished 20-year career with the Secret Service that was marked by accomplishment, dedication and friendships," agency spokesman Edwin Donovan said in a statement.

"The Secret Service is mourning the loss of a valued colleague."

The Secret Service comprises plain-clothed agents, who directly guard the president, vice-president and their families, and uniformed officers who perform support services. Following the Cartagena scandal, the agency issued a tighter code of conduct for agents travelling overseas, including a ban on drinking while on duty, visiting "disreputable establishments" and bringing foreigners into hotel rooms.

Mother Of New Born Twins Commits Suicide By Jumping Into Osun River After Giving Alms To Beggars

A few days after she was delivered of a set of twins, Mrs Shekinat Abdurazaq, 27, allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday when she jumped into the Osun River in Ede. The incident occurred at about 3.30 p.m. on the Osun River Bridge on the Oke Gada Road. It was learnt that the woman, who hailed from Ede in Osun, delivered the twins 11 days ago.

An eyewitness account revealed that shortly before Abdurazaq jumped into the river, she reportedly prayed and gave alms to beggars around the bridge head. One of the eyewitnesses, who identified himself as Selia Mojeed, said that people did not know that Abdurazaq wanted to commit suicide, else they would have prevented her from doing so.

Although efforts to speak with her husband failed, it was said that the woman had no outstanding problems with her spouse, family or neighbours before the incident. Efforts by sympathisers and passersby to rescue the woman failed as she was said to have drowned immediately.

Shortly after the incident, her husband who also attempted to jump into the river was prevented from doing so by onlookers. The police later whisked away the deceased’s husband and placed him under safe custody at the Police “A” Division in Ede.

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident.

Daniel Kwaku Nyaatse, 9, killed himself by committing suicide at Adabraka in Accra, Ghana. Speaking to reporters, Millicent, the boys mother said; "there was nothing wrong with him as at yesterday, We woke up this morning to find Kwaku hanging on a rope in front of our house."

"There was no indication he was suffering from any abuse or had been bullied at any point in time while in school", she lamented. 

The body has since been deposited at the Ridge Hospital Morgue.

Globacom Manager 'Tayo Smith' Commits Suicide!

One of the Area Marketing Managers of Globacom Nigeria, Tayo Smith committed suicide last Saturday, leaving a note in which he apologized to his wife and children.
It is also being speculated that the deceased blamed his action on his boss who he claimed was frustrating him.

Though Tayo Smith’s colleagues are keeping mum about the incident and no one wants to be quoted, there are insinuations that there is more to the suicide than is being said. People have started wondering anyone would commit suicide due to frustration from a boss when there is an option of quitting the job.

One other suspicion that has been raised by the supposed suicide note borders on the condition under which it was written. Some people have drawn an inference that the deceased might have been compelled to write the note to make it look like suicide while what happened was probably a case of homicide. There have also been suggestions that he might have been in on some top rated secrets or deals which probably led to what is being termed “arranged suicide” by some.

Though no member of staff of Glo in Challenge has denied the story, none wants to say a word. Everyone is keeping mum and when calls were placed to the Public Relations Department at the Head Office, those who answered claimed to have been transferred to the Northern part of the country.

They are forced to cling to Sheng Fi's legs as she threatens to throw herself off a nine-storey building. But what they did not know was that she had smothered her four-year-old nephew just hours earlier and thrown his body from the same roof in Southern China. 

Sheng had been embroiled in a bitter row with her sister-in-law, the young boy’s mother, and killed the boy as a result of the fight. She admitted to smothering him to death and throwing his body from the 100ft tall building in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province before attempting to jump after him.

Unaware, rescue workers, who had been called after Sheng was spotted on the roof, brought her daughter to talk her down after which they moved to grab her before she made the fatal leap. The horrific truth behind her suicide attempt was unveiled when she had been brought off the ledge.

‘She admits she'd thrown the boy's body off the same roof.’, a police spokesman told local media. ‘She will still die now, but by a firing squad for murder.'

55 Year Old Man Hangs Himself For Sleeping With His Younger Brother's Wife

A 55-year-old man from Bikita suspected to be having an illicit affair with his young brother’s wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself after the issue surfaced, police confirmed last week.

Masvingo acting provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Charity Mazula said the incident happened around 12 noon and identified the deceased as Fungai Mabasa of Mafaune Village, Chief Mabika, Bikita.

Narrating the ordeal, Asst Insp Mazula said on the fateful day Mr Elliot Mabasa (35) came from a beer drink and allegedly started to assault his wife Ms Fambirai Magadza (33) over allegations of having an extramarital affair with his elder brother, Fungai Mabasa.
Fungai, who lived a stone’s throw away from Elliot’s homestead, heard Magadza crying for help and he allegedly sent his wife Miriam (59) to go and restrain Mr Elliot from beating his wife.

When she arrived it is alleged that Elliot told Miriam that he was beating his wife because he had received information to the effect that his wife was having an extramarital affair with Fungai. Miriam is said to have gone back and allegedly told Fungai what she had heard as the reason behind the assault.

It is alleged that Fungai could not deny nor confirm the allegations but instead sent Miriam to a certain homestead in the village with a container to buy traditional beer where upon her return she found him having committed suicide and his body was hanging from the roof of their matrimonial bedroom hut.

She rushed to alert other villagers who arrived at the scene before informing the police who ferried the body to Gutu Mission mortuary for postmortem.

Inferno Preacher: Pastor Sets Himself Ablaze In Delta

 

 A cleric, whose name was given as Obaleme, committed suicide in Warri, Delta State, on Wednesday by setting himself on fire.

It was gathered that Obaleme, who had recently complained of family problems, stopped his car on Udu Bridge in Warri, grabbed a can of fuel and dashed under the bridge.

Eyewitnesses say he then doused himself with the fuel and set himself ablaze. Before onlookers could sufficiently quench the fire, the pastor died.

When contacted, Charles Muka, the state’s police spokesperson, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

Young Man Hangs Self After Saying Goodbye on Facebook

Ayodeji Balogun (pictured above) wrote what you see above on his Fabebook page yesterday evening, and by this morning, he was dead. Friends of the deceased said he injected himself with Go 90 at his home early this morning, and later hanged himself on a mango tree at his residence in Ipaja, Lagos. 

Ayodeji was a student of the National Open University, Lagos and an ex-student of CMS Grammar school. There's never an excuse for suicide. May his soul rest in peace.
